While we do attract the spring break crowd our island is better known as a family destination and a
place to find world class fishing and surfing. This is a place to take advantage of the clear emerald water and outdoor life style. The sub-tropical climate is inviting year round with an average temperature of 71 degrees; when the frost sets in up north we’re still wearing shorts and sundresses down here on North Padre Island!

We’re easy to find on the north tip of Padre Island just 20 min from Corpus Christi and the CC International Airport. Padre Island is home the Padre Island National Seashore, the 
longest stretch of undisturbed barrier island in the world. It is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico to the east and Laguna Madre to the west with direct boat access to the Gulf of Mexico through the Packery Channel. Access to the island from Corpus Christi became a lot easier in 1950 with the completion of the JFK Memorial Bridge, which spans the Gulf Intracoastal Water Way. As you come over the causeway and marvel at the breath taking view of the endless water dotted with boats, you’ll feel all your cares slipping away and a renewed sense of wonder at the beauty of Texas. we prefer traveling by boat. As you cruise through our canals or head out to open seas you’ll see everything from kayaks to multimillion dollar yachts. Whether you hit the water in a boat or on a board Padre Island is a perfect playground for all types of water sports. The beaches along the Gulf have the waves to tempt the surfing enthusiasts and the Laguna Madre with it’s unobstructed wind and shallow clear water is perfect for all wind sports.
Once on the island it’s very simple to navigate and find plenty of entertainment. Take in 18 holes of golf or enjoy the sun by the pool with a good book. However you spend your time you’re bound to 
work up an appetite, and we have a diverse assortment of restaurants to select from, you can arrive by car or cruise over on your boat and tie up to the dock. And of course, no vacation would be complete without a bit of shopping, our local businesses carry items that are refreshingly different from what you find in the malls and chain stores.
